【繪本故事】瓶子阿嬤

阿嬤，
This is Granny Bottle.
（2）
白白的頭髮，像棉花糖。
Her gray hair is like cotton candy.
（3）
可愛的笑容，像朵花。
Her smile is as lovely as a flower.
（4）
彎彎的背，像稻穗。
She stoops like a rice stalk.
（5）
阿嬤是個大忙人。
She is busy, very busy.
（6）
不是忙著撈小蝌蚪，
But she isn’t busy catching tadpoles,
（7）
不是忙著修補漏水的屋頂。
or fixing the roof,
（8）
不是忙著採果實。
or picking fruit,
（9）
不是忙著釣魚。
or fishing,
（10）
不是去登山。
or mountain climbing,
（11）
不是去潛水。
or diving,
（12）
也不是去郊遊踏青。
or even hiking.
（13）
阿嬤每天的收穫都很多。
Instead, she is busy collecting bottles every day.
（14）
愈來愈多。
She collects more and more.
（15）
愈來愈多。
More and more.
（16）
阿嬤就愈來愈開心。
And that makes her happier and happier.

阿嬤要做什麼呢？種花嗎？
Why does she do this? To grow flowers?

預防旱災嗎？
To save water for a drought?
（19）
練習打保齡球嗎？
To practice bowling?
（20）
還是蓋一座城堡？
Or to build a castle?
（21）
阿嬤不在乎大家的眼光，
Granny doesn’t mind people’s curious looks.

不管是雨天，
Rain…
（23）
還是大熱天，阿嬤從沒有停過。
…or shine, she never stops,
（24）
因為她希望，有一個乾淨的地方，
because she hopes to have a nice, clean place
（25）
讓她和孫子們一起遊戲、
where she and her grandchildren can play
（26）
一起作夢。
and dream together.
（27）
資源回收車來了，把阿嬤的瓶子都載走了。
Here comes a recycling truck. It takes all of Granny’s bottles away.
（28）
阿嬤又開始不停地、不停地……
She starts all over again and works on and on.
